FILMTRACKS Editorial Awards have nominated Serengeti for 3 awards for 2022. The nominations are:
Top Film Score of 2022, Top Film Cue of the Year for “Back Home on the Plains” and ALAN WILLIAMS as Top Composer of the Year. FILMTRACKS Community Awards nominated Legend of the Forest for Top Film Score of the Year at #16 and ALAN WILLIAMS as Top Film Composer of the Year at #6.
Alan’s score to the Chinese theatrical feature has won 12 film festival awards for Best Original Score. Festivals include New York Independent Cinema Awards, London Movie Awards, Paris Film Awards, Florence Film Awards, Rome International Movie Awards and Berlin International Art Film Festival.
Alan’s concert suite Ronin 3: A Heroes Tribute has world premiere in Washington DC, based on the upcoming 3-part documentary Ronin 3: The Battle for Sangin. Conductor Colonel Jason K. Fettig said, “Alan has composed a stunningly beautiful musical tribute to the heroism, dedication to duty and brotherhood of these Marines. It is always our distinct privilege to have Marines making the music to honor Marines.”
Alan has signed on to write the score for the upcoming 3-part documentary series about 25 Ronin 3 Marines of 3rd Battalion 5th Marines, Darkhorse and their dangerous combat experiences in Sangin Afghanistan, 2010. Ronin 3 is narrated by Academy Award nominated Tom Berenger.
The Netflix series Moving Art: Underwater wins Best Score at the Paris Film Awards. Alan’s score has won 18 Best Score awards. Underwater first garnered attention winning the 2016 Jerry Goldsmith Award for Best Documentary Score.
Alan was awarded the Best Score award at the Florence Film Awards for the animated film Estefan. This has been an audience favorite ever since it was nominated for an Annie Award for Best Score in 2014.
Alan’s score to the Netflix series Moving Art: Angkor Wat wins Best Score at the Berlin Short Film Festival. This marks the 6th award for Best Score. Previous wins and nominations include Jerry Goldsmith Awards and Global Music Awards.
The Netflix series Moving Art: Whales and Dolphins was awarded Best Score at the Los Angeles Film Awards. This is the 14th award for Alan’s score.
Alan’s score to the documentary Beneath the Sea has won the Best Original Score award at the London Independent Film Festival.
Alan’s concept album The Explorers receives Silver Medal for Best Album from the Global Music Awards. This album previously was nominated for a Jerry Goldsmith Award for Best Score in Free Creation Form.
Together with lyricist David Pomeranz, Alan co-wrote the HMMA award -winning song “Music of the Earth” to the film Mykonos Blue. After 3 previous nominations for Best Score, this is Alan’s first HMMA award.

Alan’s concept album The Explorers has been nominated for a Jerry Goldsmith Award for Best Score in Free Creation Form. This marks Alan’s fourth JGA nomination, winning the award for Best Documentary Score in 2016 for the Netflix series Moving Art: Underwater. The Explorers album is available on all streaming platforms.
The documentary feature Toxic Puzzle wins Award of Excellence for Best Score at the Accolade Global Film Awards. Directed by Swedish filmmaker Bo Landin, the film is narrated by Harrison Ford.
Each year Global Music Awards honors a musician with its Odyssey Award for Lifetime Achievement in Music Award. The 2017 Odyssey Award was awarded to Alan Williams.
